Why do people use them? Who knows what the appeal is. They were originally produced to help people quit smoking or give a healthier alternative to tobacco. The argument for e-cigarettes is that they don't contain the toxic byproducts found in cigarettes, such as tar, and don't produce smoke (therefore no smell or stains). Although the demand for electronic cigarettes is booming, experts are still not convinced they work.
Apart from that, the devices have been linked to more than 100 fires in the UK in less than three years with dozens of incidents suspected to have been sparked by e-cigarettes or related equipment including chargers.
After a 50 year absence, TV audiences will see someone exhale what appears to be cigarette smoke on an ad. It is actually vapor.
Surely this will encourage gullible people to start smoking.
Nicotine addiction is said to be one of the worst. I beg people not to entertain the thought of taking up the habit.
My husband started smoking real cigarettes when he was about 14, just after the second world war. He's smoked now for over 60 years and has been using a nicotine inhalator for 2 years in an attempt to cut down on his cigarettes. Hopeless! Even with the health authority's help and constant assessment, he can't give up his addiction. When he came home from a 2 day stay in hospital, his behavior was erratic, frantic, uncontrollable, having been without cigarettes during his internship.
Frankly, we can't afford his habit, the cost of which is £6 ($9.50) a day for one packet. But he can't live without them.
DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU.
